CEC Open Doors 2024 Event (Tuesday 26 September 2023)

Information Event Invitation for Open Doors 2024- 3:30pm-4:30pm on Tuesday 26 September 2023

The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) is once again partnering with Open Doors 2024, which will take place from 18-23 March.  The event takes visitors behind the scenes to showcase the fantastic range of careers available in construction and over 200 locations are expected to take part across Great Britain next year.

The construction sites participating will range from houses to skyscrapers, and visitor opportunities will also include a wide range of virtual and online events, whilst manufacturing and training facilities will open their doors to demonstrate the off-site roles across the sector. Further information on the key dates for the event are available in the Countdown.

Build UK, which organises Open Doors, is appealing to CEC’s network of Careers Leaders and Enterprise Advisors to book Open Doors group visits and/or raise awareness of the opportunities, which will begin to appear on the Open Doors website from 2 October 2023.

An online “Launch for Careers and Educational Partners” is taking place from 3:30pm-4:30pm on Tuesday 26 September 2023 and your attendance would be much appreciated.

Details will be shared on how Open Doors works differently for those working within education – this information is crucial to making the visits work within the academic calendar.  Also due for discussion are plans for Open Doors 2024, key dates for your diaries, changes from the 2023 event and special arrangements and provisions in place for educational pre-bookings, as well as taking questions from attendees.

Please attend if you can, as visits assist you in reaching the Gatsby Benchmarks for your careers programme!

What Schools Say About Us

Being part of the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Careers Hub has been pivotal to the development of careers provision in our school. The Hub have shared good practice across their members resulting in a stronger focus on good quality provision. The annual event enabled the hub to share their vision of School Improvement Through The Lens of Careers and looking beyond the Benchmarks. It was a fantastic opportunity to share different models of school improvement and strategies to further develop careers provision to enhance the future opportunities of our young people.

What Businesses Say About Us

It it superb to be able to speak with local schools, colleges, and businesses in Stoke and Staffs and show how important the partnerships are to bring the skills of the future. Educating those who educate the ones shaping the aspirations of young people is essential for the industry to grow and be more sustainable.”
