Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP) – Closing Date for Students 15th December (Year12/13 students – Low Income Backgrounds)

We are pleased to announce that applications for the Social Mobility Foundation’s free Aspiring Professionals Programme are now open for 2024! We would be delighted if you could encourage eligible students from your school or college to apply. Students can check their eligibility on our website.

Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP)

The APP supports high achieving Year 12/S5/Year 13 students from low income backgrounds across the UK to access top universities and careers. We offer support through our four pillars:

  1. Mentoring by a professional
  2. Tailored skills sessions and career workshops
  3. University application support and guidance
  4. Internships with top employers

How students receive our four pillars of support is dependent on where they live. Please see below for further details of the programmes we offer.

Students must apply by 12 noon, Friday 15th December 2023 by completing our application form here.

  APP Reach

We are very keen to work with schools, colleges and parts of the country that do not usually have young people on our programmes. If this applies to you and your top achievers don’t quite meet our academic criteria, you should encourage them to apply to APP Reach as they may still be eligible to receive support from us.

What Schools Say About Us

Being part of the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Careers Hub has been pivotal to the development of careers provision in our school. The Hub have shared good practice across their members resulting in a stronger focus on good quality provision. The annual event enabled the hub to share their vision of School Improvement Through The Lens of Careers and looking beyond the Benchmarks. It was a fantastic opportunity to share different models of school improvement and strategies to further develop careers provision to enhance the future opportunities of our young people.

What Businesses Say About Us

It it superb to be able to speak with local schools, colleges, and businesses in Stoke and Staffs and show how important the partnerships are to bring the skills of the future. Educating those who educate the ones shaping the aspirations of young people is essential for the industry to grow and be more sustainable.”
